Ethan Hemer serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development at the University of Wisconsin. In this role, he assists in leading the development team on implementing fundraising strategies that align with the university's athletic priorities.

Prior to his current position, Hemer served as Senior Gift Officer and Team Lead for Development at Michigan State University. During his tenure at MSU, he was responsible for raising over $26 million for various fundraising initiatives. He supported the launch of the Spartan Athletic Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt subsidiary of Spartan Ventures created to advance Michigan State Athletics philanthropy. Prior to MSU, he served as Assistant AD for External Development at Marian University, overseeing all efforts tied to tickets, marketing, sponsorships and fundraising. Hemer also spent two seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Originally from Medford, WI, Hemer earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin, playing on the defensive line for the Badgers from 2009 to 2013 and contributing to three Big Ten Championships and Rose Bowl appearances, He completed his MBA at Butler University in 2020.

Hemer and his wife, Mary ('13 Volleyball) are proud parents to Rosie and Gracie.
